An Antique Austro-Hungarian 14 Carat Gold & No Heat Sapphire Puffy Heart Locket

This heavy, chunky and luscious Austro-Hungarian puffy heart locket takes our breath away!! So beautifully shaped, perfect in every way.
Hand crafted in Vienna around 1900-1910, she is fully hallmarked with an Austro Hungarian Vienna mark for 14 karat gold for 1872-1922 on her loop and an additional Vienna mark on her bale. There is also a maker's mark "FD" on the loop but we were unfortunately unable to find any information on the maker. She is fashioned in rich, buttery yellow gold. At her centre, she is set with a glorious, bright blue sapphire, which we had checked with an FGA qualified gemologist. The sapphire is a natural, no heat sapphire, beautifully cut into a cushion shape. It is in great condition with some very minor, age related rubbing to the top facets, as you would expect in a piece of this age. Her reverse is just as beautifully crafted that you could wear it the plain side to the front too, making this locket a gorgeous, reversible, two in one, functional treasure. We love that, more possibilities! 
The locket has two oval frames with glass inserts inside, one frame comes out easily, the other is solidly wedged in, but you can still put one photo in. The frames are lined with pearly creamy silk behind the glass. The heart itself measures 20.20 mm north to south, 19.87 mm east to west and 11.28 mm depth wise. Her total length with the bale is 31.76 mm and she weighs 9.7 grams. We adore her shape ! The quality of this locket is outstanding and she is in lovely antique condition.
