Antique Art Deco Natural Ruby Pendant Charm Dangler

This simple, elegant Art Deco charm is all about the beautiful ruby. Rich, opulent, velvety colour with an amazing warmth and depth, mesmerising !!

The ruby has been checked by FGA qualified gemologist and it is a natural ruby of Thai origin. This pendant was hand crafted around 1920 in 14 karat yellow gold, with platinum layer over the top, both tested as the pendant is not hallmarked. The oval ruby is mille grain set into a bezel mount. It has a 9 karat yellow gold bale added to match the colour of the gold of the setting.

The ruby is estimated to weigh 1.0 carats. The pendant measures 13.8 mm in total length with the bale and is 5.6 mm wide. It weighs 0.63 grams . Condition wise it has had its setting repaired at one side, which we pictured in detail. The gold work is perfectly secure. Please mind the photos are much magnified and you cannot see this repair in natural conditions and when worn. The ruby is an intense red colour and in lovely antique condition. The pendant is small enough to be used as a charm but looks equally good on a chain. 

It will make a beautiful gift for a 40th wedding anniversary or a July Birthday. Rubies signify wealth, power, love and passion and they are considered one of the rarest and most valuable of gemstones.
