Antique Continental Rose Cut Diamond Silver Butterfly Pendant Charm
Butterflies are a symbol of transformation, from plain caterpillar to the magnificent creature of breathtaking beauty. We too have the same cycles of transformation and we love how butterflies symbolise this for us !
We are listing a pair of these lovely butterflies in two separate listings, so please note that this listing is for one of them.
The butterfly is a late 19th century Continental pendant, circa 1880-1890. It is made of silver with low karat rose gold backing, which tests 6-8 karat gold. We replaced the bales with larger than the original, 9 karat rose gold bales, this way they fit through the thicker chains and dog clips of your Albert chains comfortably. They are set with rose cut diamonds in closed back settings.
The butterfly itself measures 9.2 by 14.1 mm and the total length of the pendant with the bale is 16.4 mm. It weighs 2 grams and is in very good antique condition.
We love .... this sweet butterfly, gently shimmering away in the light. It looks beautiful on its own and stunning with his sparkling twin as a pair.
* Please kindly note that other jewellery in our photos is for your inspiration and not included in this listing *
