Antique French 18K Gold Rose Diamond Locket

Charming and so very, very pretty!!

This sweet French Belle Époque locket dates from around 1900-1910 and bears a French hallmark of the eagle's head for French 18 karat gold and a maker's mark. The gold is rich and buttery yellow in tone, with a lovely matt bloom finish. Decorated with the sweetest, delicately engraved flower blooming in rose cut diamonds. 

The locket is perfectly round, measuring 24.7 mm in diameter. With the fine hinge the locket is 25.2 mm wide and its total length with the bale is 33.6 mm. It has a frame on one inner side of it and closes securely with a nice, tight snap. It weighs 3.8 grams. There is a faint, barely noticeable indentation on the front with one finest, hairline scratch by the engraving. The back has a tiny shallow dent. These are negligible and do not detract from the look of the locket. Otherwise this beauty is in great antique condition and beautifully made.
