Antique Georgian silver & gold black dot paste #ERAcharm
Here we have for you a thoroughly charming, extra large Georgian black dot paste charm.
This gorgeous Georgian paste stone was foil set in a closed back, fine, pinched collet setting around 1800. She would have formed a part of another piece of jewellery, most likely cufflinks. The setting is beautifully hand crafted in silver (tested as not hallmarked) and has a domed button back . We added the bale, made in 9 carat rose gold. This sparkly antique beauty can now be worn on a chain or suspended from your favourite Albert chain's dog clip. The white paste is beautifully cut, just like an old mine cut diamond of the period - she really does look like a chunky old cut diamond! She flashes white and silvery tones as she moves. The paste (glass) stone has it's original foiling at the back of the stone and is in superb condition, with a black dot at the centre bottom where the culet of the stone is located. We adore black dot Georgian paste jewellery, our absolute favourite!! The pendant has tons of antique charm and character!
The paste in her setting measures 11.79 mm in diameter and the charm is 18.84 mm long with the bale included. She weighs 2 grams. There is one tiny, insignificant mark at the back of the domed setting and the paste stone has a couple of very faint scratches, visible only with a jewellers loupe! Not with the naked eye. For being at least 220 years old she is in lovely, amazing in fact, antique condition...!
