It is composed of a Victorian seed pearl horse nail pin with a matching colour gold antique chain of the same era. It is a match truly made in heaven. The chain opens at the back with a lovely, large bale. The pin does not open, it has a double bale pendant suspended at its centre. You can wear it as is, alone for an elegant, sleek look or hang at least two charms of your choice from the bales. The bales are designed to hang at different lengths and are different sizes - this allows for all your charms to shine their best, without one obscuring the other. You can swap and change a multitude of charms or even pendants on it for a different look each time. The seed pearl set horse nail is super cool and will go with absolutely any charms, it is very versatile. Both the nail pin and chain date from around 1900 and both are 9 karat gold, tested as they are not hallmarked. The two bales in the front are hallmarked for 9 karat English gold, the one at the back has been tested. The colour of the gold of all the components matches beautifully and is a lovely, warm yellow tone. The velvety, creamy white natural seed pearls are all original to the piece and in fantastic condition. They make for a neutral look, both edgy and contemporary with the unmissable antique charm. You can use charms of different ages with this necklace - from Georgian to modern - be inspired and create your unique look !
The pearl bar is 42.18 mm long and is 8.78 mm wide at its widest point. As a necklace she is 18.75 inches long, sitting just above the clavicle. She can be shortened or lengthened, please ask us if you would like this done. You can wear longer chains with her together and stack them up to your heart's content. The chain is fixed onto the pin permanently and securely and its links are 2.56 mm wide. The closing mechanisms of all the bales are tight and secure. The necklace weighs 11.92 grams as a whole and is in fabulous antique condition.
