Antique Victorian 15K Gold Aquamarine Pendant Charm Dangler

This gorgeous antique Victorian pendant is a pop of aquamarine brightness framed in stunning rosy-yellow gold. 

The lovely old cut aquamarine is a gentle mid blue tone, with all the shades of sparkly ocean reflected brightly around the facets of the cut. The pendant is not hallmarked and tests 15 karat gold. The mount of the aquamarine features the finest, intricate detail and a lovely, opulent Victorian style. The detail of the setting is extraordinary, with each claw formed like a tiny fleur-de-lis, with gold ball detail and very fine wirework. We love it ! The gold is an interesting shade of yellow with rosy overtones, making it a perfect match for both rose and yellow gold chains. The pendant was beautifully hand crafted around 1880-1890. We upgraded the original, smaller bale to a 9 karat matching yellow gold one. Now the pendant can be worn on your thicker chains or dangle from a dog clip of an Albert chain. 

The aquamarine measures 9.07 by 7.04 mm and is estimated to weigh 2.34 carats. It is a fabulous stone, beautifully cut, evenly coloured and clean. From louping the stone we believe the facets have been lightly polished due to some wear and has a tiny, pin prick sized mini-chip on one of the facets on the reverse, only visible with a strong jewellers loupe. The pendant measures 17.63 mm total length. It weighs 1.3 grams and is in fabulous antique condition. The pendant is small enough to be used as a charm but looks equally fantastic on a thinner or thicker chain. 

Aquamarine is a birthstone for March and a gem for the 19th anniversary of marriage, making this beauty a lovely gift. It is meant to bring happiness to marriage and would make a perfect "something blue" for your wedding day too !! This gorgeous, sea coloured gems is a symbol of purity, happiness, hope and eternal vitality of youth.
