Antique Victorian Natural White Sapphire Earrings

Matching antique white sapphire earrings to our next two listings. They are full of Victorian charm !

The sapphires have been checked by FGA qualified gemologist and they are natural sapphires, qualifying as a white variety, although in some light conditions they show a lovely, palest shade of light blue. They are superbly bright and clean cushion cut stones of amazing brightness.

The earrings were hand crafted around 1880-1890 in 14 karat yellow gold and originally had different ear fittings. These have been changed to 9 karat gold shepherd's hooks. They are not hallmarked, hence tested. The lovely sapphires are set into simple prong settings and are estimated to weigh 2.95 carats together. The sapphires in their settings measure 7.8 by 7.4 and 6.5 by 6.4 mm. They are 15.2 mm total length. They weigh 1.3 grams together and are in lovely antique condition.

They will make a beautiful gift for a 45th wedding anniversary or a September Birthday. Sapphires are symbolic of loyalty, faithfulness and trust and so those earrings could be a beautiful and unusual "something blue" for your wedding day.
