This antique white sapphire pendant is all about the sparkling Victorian charm.

The sapphire has been checked by FGA qualified gemologist and it is a natural, sapphire, qualifying as a white variety, although in some light conditions it shows a lovely, palest shade of light blue. It is a superbly bright and clean cushion cut stone of amazing brightness.

The pendant was hand crafted around 1880-1890 in 14 karat yellow gold. The original bale has been changed to a larger, 9 karat yellow gold one so that it can fit through a thicker chains and a dog clip of an Albert chain. It is not hallmarked, hence tested. The lovely sapphire is set into simple prong setting and is estimated to weigh 2.3 carats. The sapphire in its setting measures 7.7 by 7.0 mm. With the bale, the pendant measures 13.6 mm in total length. It weighs 0.7 grams and is in lovely antique condition. The pendant is small enough to be used as a charm but looks equally good on a chain.

It will make a beautiful gift for a 45th wedding anniversary or a September Birthday. Sapphires are symbolic of loyalty, faithfulness and trust and this one could be a beautiful and unusual "something blue" for your wedding day.
