Antique Victorian Pearl Diamond Flaming Comet Pendant Charm Dangler

Antique Victorian Pearl Diamond Flaming Comet Pendant Charm Dangler

£695.00Price

Bursting into life with flames of gorgeous diamonds she lands with grace and style ! We called this beauty the ERA Flaming Comet. She hails from the Victorian times of around 1890-1900. Her miniature, dainty form is a delight and her workmanship stunning.

She is made in 12-15 karat yellow gold with a fine layer of palladium. As she is not hallmarked we had her professionally tested. Interestingly, palladium was discovered in 1802, it is a rare metal and it was named after asteroid called Pallas, discovered in the same year. Pallas was considered to be a planet at the time and is one of only three intact bodies orbiting the planet of Neptune. How fitting for our celestial beauty to be made in precious metal named after a planetoid!

This heavenly little wonder's gems are sparkly, beautiful old mine cut diamonds, white, bright and lively, not unlike the stars in the sky. The half pearl is a moonlit light gray colour. They complement each other beautifully, with contrasting settings; a smooth gold one for the pearl and mille grained fine settings for the diamonds.

She measures 15.80 mm north to south and 7.12 mm side to side. Her total length with the bale is 21.63 mm. The diamonds estimated weight is 0.13 carats and the pearl in its setting is 7.12 in diameter. The charm weighs 1 gram and is in fantastic antique condition.

We adore ..... this sweet baby comet, she is such a fine miniature work of art, sparkling with her gentle celestial charm.
