Art Deco 18 Inch French Platinum Chain Necklace

This rare to find French platinum chain necklace is beautiful, both in design and quality.

The elongated, lightly faceted cable link is dense and strong even for heavier, bigger pendants. You can feel all this French fabulousness when you hold this chain in your hand. The links are finely executed with wonderful precision. The chain looks expensive and elegant, fabulous to wear even by itself or making your Art Deco pendant look just right (we think the wrong chain can absolutely ruin the look of the best pendant ! ) 

It is 18 inches long and hallmarked with the French hallmark of a mask for domestically produced and imported platinum articles from 1926 to the present. We date the chain to the Art Deco period and from 1926 to around 1950. The hallmark is stamped on the fantastic rectangular and engraved clasp, which has a secondary safety clasp on the outside of it, a wonderful idea! The link of this chain is just 0.84 mm wide while the clasp measures 8.76 by 0.74 mm. The chain weighs 3.4 grams and is in great vintage condition.
