Art Deco Sapphire Diamond Platinum Engagement Ring

Our gorgeous Art Deco ring with its beautiful, timeless design, elegant and classic styling is smooth and low on the finger and so fine. It was hand crafted in the 1920's in platinum and iridium. It is hallmarked with "900PLAT.100IRID" for 90%platinum and 10% iridium content. The effect is a strong, hard wearing precious metal that has a beautiful steely grey tone to it we absolutely adore. The cool tone of the metal is the perfect frame for the icy white baguette diamonds in the shoulders and the blue sapphire in the centre. The baguette diamonds are super white and clean, estimated F-G colour and to weigh 0.25 carats in total. 

The centre stone is a natural blue sapphire with a pretty mid blue colour. It has a low cushion step cut and we think this gem is a later replacement. The sapphire has a tiny natural inclusion in the top front corner - one of our photos is taken specifically of the gem's table, tilted into the light so that you can see this inclusion and a few faint scratches to the table also. Our photos are hugely magnified so please be assured that this is so tiny it is totally invisible under normal light conditions. The sapphire measures 7.65 by 5.51 mm and it is estimated to weigh 1.10 carats. The gem set top of the ring measures 13.69 across your finger and sits smooth and low, 3.87 mm of the top of your finger. It is size US 7.25 or UK O 1/2, weighs 2.5 grams and is in lovely antique condition.
