Stunning Edwardian Hessonite Garnet Diamond 7 Stone Half Hoop Ring

Hessonite garnets are known as cinnamon stone, as when they were discovered in Ceylon the miners compared their colour to that of cinnamon oil. They come in various shades of honey yellow , through orange, red and brown and are mined chiefly in Ceylon (now Sri Lanka), India and Africa. Hessonite garnets are purported to hold magical powers of clarity and confidence.

This gorgeous Edwardian ring features beautiful hessonite garnets of lovely quality. They are orange honey colour and are supremely bright, sparkly. Our photos don't capture the fabulous lustre and brightness of these gems very well as their colour is so velvety, deep and dense, but in real life they truly sparkle and come alive ! Their antique cushion cut adds to their beauty. The centre stone is estimated to weigh 0.90 carats, while the side stones are estimated to weigh 0.35 carats each, making the total an estimated 1.60 carats.

Set in a classic Victorian 7 stone half hoop, carved shank in buttery yellow gold the garnets are interspersed with four European cut, white and bright diamonds with estimated total weight of 0.08 carats. The ring is not hallmarked, it tests 15 karat gold. It is hand crafted in England around 1910. 

The top of the ring measures 7.75 mm top to bottom and 19.95 mm side to side. It is US wise 6.5 or UK size N and re-sizeable. All the stones as well as the ring are in lovely antique condition.
